The three Enemies that are stopping us from going faster in the Recruiting World

Jan 13, 2023

And the story starts like this:

Talent Acquisition Teams and Recruiting Firms aim to find the right talent to fill an open position as quickly as possible. That is the Mission!

Potential candidates want to know everything about the opportunity since the second one, well, the second two. Ha.

Hiring Leaders also want to know everything about the candidate and feel super worried about whether the candidate is qualified and will perform. They do not even hire the candidate and want to know if they will stay forever (Yes, like in eternaallllll dimeensionnnnnn of timeeeeeee). Ha.

Ok, I am exaggerating, but I hope you follow me.

The reality is that we all have ghosts, biases, and ambitions. So then, here are three enemies to defeat. Let's do it.

#1: Uncertainty. Lack of Trust. (And I get it, it is too much noise out there, and we could be better, and not all are the same). The past does not need to repeat necessarily.

Reality is as much as we talk about the potential opportunity. No one knows 100% for sure what will happen tomorrow. No one of us knows 100% signed with ink in the rock if a candidate will be happy and stay forever and the hiring leader the same. So, yes, we need to juggle the uncertainty. It is part of the game, but hey! Life is like that. My advice:

  • Talk honestly with us. We are here to facilitate the process and need a third win-win-win. This is our job and business too. So, tell us: (What do you want and what do you not want). As a recruiting firm, we better use your time wisely and professionally because I do not know if you know, but we back up candidates literally with our services guarantee. So, if we present you with a company / leader and you do not perform or leave. We fail. If the company / leader fails you, we fail too. So, pursuing and ensuring a good fit is for the benefit of all, and that is our mission.

#2: Busyness. Not time for what matters. Your win!

Busy Candidates / Busy Hiring Leaders. My advice:

  • Candidates, it would be best if you dedicated all your efforts to care for you and find the right job. The unemployed mentality does not help. Use this: You LLC is your company by now. Please use your time and energy wisely. Your most important mission is to help yourself.
  • Leaders, if you tell us what you need precisely, we will find that talent for you. Commit to working closely with us! You won't regret it!

#3: Fancyness. Resumes and Job Descriptions live here. You want to make it sound and look cool, and fancy. (But it is the same thing, just with a different name that by the way, it is hard to understand or does not apply).

As Recruiters, we think simple, practical, generic, and specific. Example: Unless we are working for the Entertainment and Music Industry, we will look for a rock star, and in that case, highly probable the rock star does not have resume or LinkedIn so then we will call their agent and then we will talk. My advice: Let's do it simple and easier for all.

Now, let's go and win the game! We can!
